A bicycle takes more room than people expect once you count the handlebars and the space to wheel it in and out. These bike CAD blocks give you a single bicycle and a five-bike rack at true size, for cycle parking, bike rooms and street plans.

Bicycle CAD block in plan and side view

The bicycle is 1,750 mm long, 600 mm wide at the handlebars and 1,050 mm high, with 700c (28 in) wheels on a 1,070 mm wheelbase, the proportions of an adult road or city bike. In plan it points up the sheet, and the side view has the front to the right with both wheels on the ground line.

Bike rack CAD block and cycle parking

The rack holds five bikes at 470 mm spacing in a 2,500 by 1,800 mm footprint. The bikes alternate direction, one with its front wheel at the top of the sheet and the next at the bottom, so the handlebars do not clash at that spacing. Each front wheel sits in a holder fixed to two rails. In the side view the holder of the neighbouring bike is dashed on A-HIDN.

Treat the footprint as the rack's own space, then add an aisle behind it to wheel bikes in and out. Spacing and aisle widths for cycle parking are set by local standards, so check yours before you count spaces. Each file holds two named blocks at 1:1 in millimetres, such as CT_BIKE_RACK_PLAN and CT_BIKE_RACK_ELEV, with outlines on A-VEHI and details on A-VEHI-DETL.

For powered two-wheelers see the motorcycle and scooter blocks, and for cars the parking lot blocks. All vehicles are on car and vehicle CAD blocks.
